Marie-Christin earned a PhD in Sept. 2020 from the University of Würzburg, Germany. Since then, she’s been a postdoc with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) working with the Julia Mahamid team. At QCB, Marie-Christin will be working with Zan Luthey-Schulten, Julia Mahamid, and Angad Mehta. Her research is focused on mapping the interplay between structure, function and organization of macromolecular complexes in native and perturbed cells using cryo-electron tomography. She envisions harnessing the high-resolution quantitative and spatial information derived from these data to help generate realistic 4D whole cell models for faithful predictions of missing structural information and interactions at the molecular and cellular level.
